Fischer-Tropsch wax (FT Wax)

Fischer-Tropsch wax is a synthetic wax produced through the Fischer-Tropsch process, in which carbon monoxide and hydrogen (syngas) are converted into hydrocarbons. FT wax consists predominantly of long-chain, high-molecular-weight hydrocarbons and is known for its high melting point, low viscosity when molten, hardness, and low oil content.

Synthetic waxes see Fischer-Tropsch wax as the predominant member of its category. This substance stands out as an advanced chemical product because high-pressure carbon monoxide transformation results in its multifunctional wax form. Its chemical composition consists of long-chain hydrocarbons between C20 and C100 that maintain excellent purity and consistent structure.
